TIMEFLIES - UP AND COMING GROUP

Timeflies has been on my radar ever since they released their single "Lose My Mind". This group is made up of two guys from Tufts College in Boston. They have a pretty unique style which could be compared to 3Oh!3 mixed with the Script. In "Lose My Mind" they demonstrate a pop hip-hop style mixed with some dubstep. Their next single "Pipe Dreams" is a complete shift in styles. It is an acoustic track mixed with a rapping flow and great vocals. This is the reason I really like them. They are not stuck on one style and really give the people what they want to hear. Anyway if you haven't heard of them, check them out.

Laid back song with a catchy chorus. iSH adds some great verses on this track to make it worth a listen.

This track is an alternative song with a great production. It kind of reminds me of Smash Mouth mixed with Mike Posner. Weird, I know, but trust me, its good.

DUBSTEP JAM - MUST HEAR - SKRILLEX

Skrillex has become my favorite dubstep artist. First of all he used to be part of the band From First to Last but then lost his vocal ability due to singing so much. After getting many surgeries and having a disappointing music career he found a way to make a come back. Sonny Moore was made to make music and this track proves it. This is a HUGE BANGER. This is probably the best Dubstep song I have ever heard. Not exaggerating. Just listen to it.

Alright so there is now another white rapper who is starting to gain massive attention. His name is Huey Mack. He is an 18 year old kid who started gaining fame from his first mixtape "Wish Me Luck" right when it dropped. Well anyway here are my favorite songs by him. Check out his Youtube Page. This is my favorite song by Huey. First of all the lyrics seem way to mature for a 18 year old kid to be stating and his flow is fast paced and clean. In my opinion this song really shows why Huey is gaining attention.

Olu has become one of my favorite rappers over the last month. Every new song I hear by him, impresses me more and more. Not only does he have a sick flow but he also produces his own beats to fit his style. He gives the genre of rap a breathe of fresh air with his unique style. It kind of reminds me of a Young Jeezy gone Indie. He is a guy a I'm sure one day you'll see all over the TV and radio.


This is the first song I ever heard by Olu. I was impressed.

Kid Ink is 23 year old new and upcoming hip hop artist. He was born and raised in L.A. but surprisingly has more of an East Coast sound. Anyway I'm not sure if this guy is necessarily gonna be the next big thing, but this is his first release ever so I'm pretty impressed so far. He looks and sounds exactly like a combination of Tyga and Chris Brown, its almost scary. Anyway Enjoy these tracks from his new mixtape Crash Landing.

Ok so these songs are all a little emotional but in no way does it mean they aren't good.

This track is by an upcoming hip hop artist named EvoLewtion. It has an awesome beat and an even better flow. Its a song about being Just Friends with a girl and yes this sounds lame but somehow he makes into a really good for everyone to enjoy. His style kind of reminds me of the Blue Scholars.

This song is by a group called Rock City and it has an Wyclef Jean/Akon/Matisyahu feel. It really has an African vibe to it. Its catchy and has great vocals. Overall great track.
